Wendy (Mello) Newton is an expert in making your business run more efficiently, as well as engaging your employees and your customers to meet your needs and exceed your goals. She brings over 20 years of outstanding experience finding resourceful ways to increase productivity and streamline processes while building diverse cross-functional teams.
As a consultant, Wendy led premier multi-million dollar projects including the skunk-works development and launch of GoPost.com for USPS as well as MDTA’s IT infrastructure upgrade including the build-out and migration to both a primary and disaster recovery data center.
With 13 years in matrixed leadership roles at Arbitron Inc., Wendy became extremely adept managing cross-functional projects and teams in a diverse fast paced environment. Taking a consultative approach to her roles in Organization Effectiveness and later Marketing, Wendy was key to projects that implemented and automated processes, launched employee engagement programs, the company intranet, business to consumer communications, strategic planning, organizational development & design, and countless other improvements that remain active today. Wendy is no stranger to wearing a number of hats, completing a multiple concurrent projects and exceeding customer expectations.
Her expertise in Human Resources and related technology began in 1993 with a local division of Sears Logistic services in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She quickly tackled her first leadership role and was named shortly thereafter to a national special projects team to implement a new time and attendance system.
Building on her success, she moved to Diamond/Triumph Auto Glass as the Risk/Benefits Manager. As a rapidly growing company, Wendy implemented and managed a series of firsts– a corporate-wide worker’s compensation program, health and wellness plans, and other insurance programs exceeding customer expectations.
Wendy earned her MBA in Technology Management in 2003 at The University of Phoenix, and has a Bachelors Degree in Communications from Wilkes University, in Wilkes Barre, PA. She has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2010.
She is an avid supporter of several Howard County charitable organizations, and often lends her talents to their communications, marketing, technology and other resource planning and execution needs.
